Catholic Social Teaching
The Catholic Social Teaching Principles are based around the Church’s belief that we can all make a difference in our world and make it a better place for all. These teachings are rooted in Scripture and especially in the teachings of Jesus found in the Gospels. Christ shows us how to walk in his footsteps, bringing love and care to those both near and far. We hope to make present in our unjust world, the justice, love and peace of God through our words and actions.
At St James’ RC Primary School we promote the Catholic Social Teaching Principles (CST) by each class focusing on one principle in each year group. The seven principles of social teaching that we will explore at St James’ are shown in the grid. We explore these principles in our classes but also together through our curriculum, prayer and liturgy experiences and through our everyday actions. We ensure that they are an integral part of our curriculum and underpin our mission as a school.
