Year 4 continue to be inspired by ‘The Power of Reading’ and are encouraged to read more widely and develop inference, deduction, problem solving and reasoning skills still further. They continue to use concrete apparatus for maths. It is expected that they will know all of their tables by the end of this year. They check and edit their work independently. They are Y5 ready when they are secure in the Y4 curriculum. They are given an exciting broad and balanced curriculum.

Announcements

We will be having an Open Morning for parents of children due to start school in September 2020 on Thursday 21st November at 9.15am: The Head Teacher will speak, our Year 6 children will give tours of the school and Supplementary Information Forms will be handed out. The whole event will last approximately one hour - no need to book.


With 100% of pupils reaching or exceeding the pass mark in the Phonic Screening Check, St James' is in the top 3% of primary schools in the country.
